Love music and want to support CSUDH?
Plan ahead because the music department is planning a concert.
The concert will be in May 2018.
What is it about?
“The planned concert is part of CSUDH’s planned theme to mark the 50th anniversary of seminal events of Latinx history in California,” said Professor Mary Au.
What kind of music can we expect to hear?
The “concert of original music related to ‘issues of activism and diversity in the Latinx population,’” said Professor Au.
What else?
“We are hoping to present a screening of ‘Dolores,’ a documentary about the life of the legendary Dolores Huerta. Hopefully Dolores Huerta will be able to attend as well to encourage our students on her famous motto ‘SÍ se Puede,’” Au said.
Who else might be there?
We are also hoping that Dr. Martha Gonzalez will be able to join us (on) campus to talk about her life as a Chicana activista (artist/activist), educator, musician, feminist music theorist, mother, as well as lead singer, percussionist, and songwriter in the Grammy Award winning band Quetzal,” said Au.
Admission is free.
