Time is not a factor when it comes to music and its influence on society. During unjust moments in history, artists have emerged to add a voice from their platform to highlight the historically evident systemic oppression that Black people have faced.
Despite the attempts made previously by civil rights activists and leaders, in the late 1960s, the Black Panther Party was established among strong-minded individuals who advocated to address the injustices against their communities.
