CSUDH needs your support at the Torodome
Toro Basketball started their first two league games as both the men’s and women’s teams try to be the best in the CCAA (California Collegiate Athletic Association).
Last year the women’s team made a historic run, but this season makes it seem as if it was lightning in a bottle. As of publication, the women’s team has an overall record of 2-3* and a 0-0* record in CCAA games. In the first five games of the season, the Toros have already lost as many games as they did overall last season. However, there is enough talent on the roster to turn things around. The team aims to showcase their full potential this winter and prove they are a contender.
The men’s team got off to a strong start this season and improved from last season’s 12-16 record. As of publication, the men stand at a 4-1* record which includes a 0-0* record in CCAA games. This year, the Toros have a positive scoring margin of 8.6* against their opponents. This is an increase from last year’s negative scoring margin. The team looks to continue their success during the winter semester and show they can be a CCAA playoff team.
The winter semester runs from December 7 through January 20. During this stretch, the men’s and women’s teams will both play eight home games that any student can attend for free. Come out and have a good time at the games until the spring semester begins.
