The History Department is holding a 100/100 challenge this semester in which Toros are encouraged to donate food and goods for students.
Donations can be taken to La Corte Hall, Room A-342.
The department wants to contribute over 100 pounds of food to the Toro Pantry and 100 items, such as hygiene products, to the Women’s Resource Center.
Professor Kathleen Fawver came up with the idea. Her History 101 students have been supportive of the cause.
“They have generously donated,” Fawver said.
Students are invited to bring canned goods and toiletries to help out other students get through an unexpected life event.
“I am comforted that there is this kind of kindness in the world,” Fawver said.
The Women’s Resource Center and Toro Pantry are on-campus resources for students in financial need. These programs are provided to the student body at no charge.
All students are eligible to benefit from these services such as free meals, hygiene products and shelter. There are no questions asked. Everyone is welcome.
CSUDH provides multiple resources for students in need. In addition to food, shelter and everyday products, there are emergency grants, counseling and other forms of financial and emotional assistance.
For more information, students can visit the CSUDH website and click in the student services tab.
