The way others see us is a direct reflection of how we see ourselves, according to Student Health and Psychological Services.
This is an important concept for those who are trying to gain a better understanding of themselves.
If this concept is relevant to you, there is an on-campus weekly support group called “Understanding Self & Others” sponsored by Student Health and Psychological Services. Dr. Monica Rosas-Baines is facilitating the sessions.
The group starts meeting Feb. 15 and will gather there every Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
It is recommended that students schedule an appointment with Dr. Rosas-Baines prior to attending. This will allow her to assess student needs and determine whether this is the right program for them.
In the long run, these sessions are intended to help students understand the impact they have on others. They will also explore their relationships, increase self-awareness, build their social skills and self-confidence — all while getting feedback and support from others on any personal issues they might be having.
To schedule an appointment, please contact Student Health and Psychological Services at (310) 243-3818 or email Rosas-Baines at: mrosas@csudh.edu with any questions you may have.
