CSUDH President Thomas Parham announced April 15 the official launch of the CSUDH Gender Equity Task Force, which will examine the current gender equity climate and practices at CSUDH.
In connection, The Bulletin filed a public record request with the Office of Administration and Finance, requesting salary information on every tenured and tenure-track instructor. We will analyze that data in our next issue, which will be distributed Thursday, May 9.
The CSUDH Academic Senate voted Feb. 6 to request the university to form the task force, in part to examine the possibility of unequal gender pay at CSUDH
“In furtherance of my desire to achieve broader levels of diversity and inclusiveness in my administration, I am pleased to announce the launch of the gender equity task force on our campus,” Parham said in the April 15 email. “ This task force has been formed, in collaboration with multiple entities on campus, to develop opportunities to increase equity across gender lines throughout our Dominguez Hills campus community.”
The task force will be co-chaired by Laura Talamante, the chair of the Academic Senate, CSUDH Title IX Officer Elizabeth Schrock, and Kim Costino, dean of Undergraduate Studies.
The Bulletin will be analyzing the salary data in our next issue, and we will post a link to the spreadsheet we used in that analysis online, with all names removed, but genders noted.
