Four weeks ago, the Los Angeles Galaxy’s aspirations for the playoffs were as big as Zlatan’s ego, as their roller-coaster of a season continued.

The Galaxy went from a perfect 7-0 July to an early Halloween, a horrific wining-less August.

Today, as they visit current MLS Champion, Toronto FC, the club looks to break their season-worst six-game winless streak, now under the charge of interim head coach  Dominic Kinnear.

“We trust Kinnear will have an immediate impact,” said two-year season pass member and Galaxy fan Sergio Manzo. “He has been in the institution multiple times and was among [former head coach] Sigi’s coaching staff in 2018.”

The Galaxy is currently in eighth place in their conference, two spots from the playoff position. But six of the seven teams ahead of them have played fewer games, giving them extra possibilities to break away from the Galaxy. It gets worse. Galaxy suffers far from home, holding a record of 3-8-4. Making matters worse for today’s match, they can’t count on Gio Dos Santos and Sebastian Lletget, both out due to injuries.

A loss today in Toronto won’t mathematically eliminate the Galaxy from playoff contention. But with only five games remaining after today, it will make that number much closer than the team and its fans would like.

Today’s game starts at 4:30 p.m.
