The KDHR campus radio station offers an array of student programs from health to sports, which are hosted by Cal State Dominguez Hills undergraduates, graduate students and alumni.
“KDHR is the perfect radio show for students because it is entirely run by students who bring great ideas,” said Stephen Janes, program coordinator and station manager.
There are 19 shows that students can tune into and stream, depending on their interests.
Sports fans can catch up with staff member Aaron Mezgebe on the “Running with the Toros” from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays. “Running with the Toros” provides game commentary and student athlete interviews as well as music and talk.
The “Tuesday Turn Up” show from 3 to 4:40 p.m. features inspirational messages, guest interviews and Christian music. The show is hosted by Dominguez senior William Washington, also known as “B.A.”
From 4 to 4:45 p.m. on Wednesdays, KDHR offers health programming by graduate student Michelle Padilla. “The Awareness Show” brings attention to different types of illnesses and syndromes and plays a variety of different music genres. Padilla created the show after she encountered her own medical setbacks.
On Thursday afternoons, students can tune in at 12:30 p.m. for “Talented Radio” with alumnus Keion Bryant to discuss trending music, social topics, media and entertainment.
On Fridays at 1:30 p.m., students can tune in to the “Chocolate Diva Chronicle” to hear celebrity news, fashion and pop culture topics with sophomore Angelica Cheyenne.
Students and faculty members who are interested in volunteering or interning at KDHR can fill out an application.
