Starting its second year in business, Da Vinci Ice Cream specializes in desserts created by customers.
Located at 17401 Avalon Blvd. in Carson, the shop is not only made to cater to individual tastes but to inspire creativity.
The ice cream connoisseurs have raised the bar in the dessert world with a limitless menu. Letting visitors put together treats with ingredients ranging from Tajin to Cinnamon Toast Crunch, guests are encouraged to mix and match their random cravings with different ice cream flavors. They can combine their ice cream and toppings into cones, cups, sandwiches and milkshakes.
Da Vinci has late night hours. They are open from noon to 10 p.m. Sundays to Thursdays and noon to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
Happy Hour takes place from 3 to 5 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays. Prices start at $2.50 for each scoop; build-your-own sandwiches costs $4.
The ice cream shop also has two current Toros employed there. Students receive a 10 percent discount with a valid student I.D.
Da Vinci incorporates “Paint Night” eight to 12 nights a month. Paint night is an all ages event; no experience required.
The host, Cindie Salazar, specializes in a range of arts and crafts from wedding decorations to craft workshops.
“Paint Night” includes a step by step tutorial on a specific piece. Da Vinci wanted to give customers a chance to connect with one another.
You are given the opportunity to give each theme a personal twist. Once tackling the first half of the theme, painters are then able to create a dessert of their choice.
“Paint Night” gives individuals the opportunity to not only be creative but to be innovative with the tools provided.
