Shooting on an upcoming show on Netflix continues on campus today. The show, starring Steve Carell and John Malkovich, about the creation of a new American “space force” filmed last week and the big attraction was a helicopter on the lawn west of the University Theatre.
But today, the big attraction is the aforementioned Malkovich, a two-time Academy Award-nominated actor who has appeared in more than 70 films, including the 1999 Charlie Kaufman-written film “Being John Malkovich.”
Anyway, the film crew didn’t like the student newspaper trying to get photos of Mr. Malkovich of the filming that basically closed the west entrance of the Library down in the middle of the day. Instead of citing our First Amendment rights and the fact that this is our school and their shot was disrupting our Thursday and if anyone needs to accommodate themselves around someone else maybe it’s you Hollywood people, and not us plebians, we just let it slide.
